Su’s Cottages is a delightful collection of boutique family rooms and suites surrounded by shopping centres, restaurants, spas and less than two minutes from the popular Blue Ocean Beach.

It’s a hidden “Gem” because, tucked away just a hop, skip and jump from the beach was this unique accommodation where the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was outstanding, the atmosphere was amazing, and the prices were among the lowest we have found in Bali.

Su’s Cottages are owned and operated by a long-term expat Australian, Rena, and her Indonesian husband Su, and we’ve never been made more welcome in all our travels.

It is genuine boutique accommodation, beautifully set out on Balinese style reminiscent of the original fishing villages that founded the region. Clean, quiet and close to everything, we were pleasantly surprised by how much of the complex had been fully renovated, including the pool and downstairs suites.

Our upstairs balcony room, while not yet renovated, was clean, comfortable, airconditioned and had an excellent ensuite – everything we need to relax at night and regain our energy explore the area.

Another of the pleasant surprises was the great range, high quality and low prices of the meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner and even a picnic pack if desired.

But most of all, it felt like home-away-from-home. So popular, we discovered many of the guests returned for a week or two every year, happy to chat and point out all the best places to explore.

There were dozens of great shops, money exchange centres, restaurants, massage and spa centres, bars, vehicle pick-up at your door, and of course the famous beach with its rows and rows of tents, shallow ocean and light surf, and amazing sunsets every night.
They can even arrange local tours and are happy to spend the time to answer any questions you have.
