• Organise mail to be held or picked up.
• Cancel any deliveries.
• Check that payments that will become due when you are away are paid prior to leaving. You don’t want to get home and find your electricity is cut off or have your phone cut off while you are overseas.
• Make sure your home is secure and safe. (ask neighbour to watch out for you)
• Organise plants to be looked after & someone to check on your house.
• Switch off unnecessary power points
• Confirm overseas banking details with your bank.
• If you intend to drive overseas you will need to get an international driver’s license.
Check with motor registration where you can get this in your state.
• Register with the travel registration of your country
• Make sure you have some of the currency you will need when you land in a different
country.
• Check to make sure there is no election on while you are away. If there is you will need
to get a “temporary absent” form to fill in. (or be fined)
