Komodo National Park – Home to the komodo dragon, an endangered species which can be up to three meters in length and weigh 165 kilograms. These creatures are gigantic lizard like animals. The park was declared World Heritage in 1987 and covers three major islands and numerous small islands. The total size of the national park is 1,817 square Km with proposed extensions. Divers have claimed that Komodo waters as one of the best diving sites in the world.
Lake Tondano - is a famous tourist destination in the province of North Sulawesi. 600 meters above sea level and covering an area of 4,278 hectares the lake is situated by the village of Remboken, approximately 3 kilometers from Tomohon city or 30 km from Manado. Lake Tondano is surrounded by 700 meters high mountains, which are the Lembena, the Kaweng, the Tampusu and Masarang and covers three sub-districts. From the lake side, you can see clearly Mount Kaweng.
Tamansari - The Water Castle. When Visiting Kraton you should definitely make a point of seeing the Water Castle (Tamansari) just one km west of Kraton. You will also find, just west of Kraton the ruins, pools, arches and underground passages of the former pleasure gardens that were built by Sultan Hamengkubuwono in 1758. They were used as a rest house for the royal family. In 1867 much of the area was damaged from an earthquake however the bathing pools have been restored
