Then there is the shopping! Everyone who has been to Singapore agrees the trip is not complete without a visit to some of the island’s world famous shopping centres. But a quick tip is, if you are there long enough find out where the locals shop – the quality and value is said to be beyond belief.

If you get the chance to spend some time in Singapore airport you will be amazed. It is like a small city with so much to see and do. There is an airport hotel IN THE AIRPORT that you can book by the hour. It is very well priced and perfect to catch a nap before your next flight. The Hotel is very clean, modern and well presented with ensuite to freshen up. It is important to book in advance before you get to Singapore because as you imagine it is very popular. A great idea that I wish more international airports would adopt.

The Butterfly Garden
Within the airport there is also a butterfly garden. This is truly amazing. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Thousands of beautifully coloured butterflies of all sizes. You can walk through the garden and get close ups of these butterflies. Make sure you have your camera handy. You'll get some great shots.
There is also a kids play centre, plenty of shops, restaurants, live shows and it goes on.
We met a local couple with 2 chidren who came to the airport regularly as a family outing.
