Mexico
Planning your first holiday to Mexico? Be ready for more crowds, hustle and bustle, noise and poverty than you're accustomed to, especially if it's your first trip outside the developed world.
However, most Mexicans are only too happy to help you feel at home in their country, especially if you have bothered to learn just a few phrases of Spanish – every word you know will make your trip that little bit easier and more enjoyable.

A blend of traditional and modern
Mexico is likened to heaven for many international travelers because of its snow-covered volcanoes, fascinating deserts, historic sites, swarming urbanized cities, old colonial towns, grandiose resorts, isolated beaches and a unique natural treasure of flora and fauna.
This unusual blend of traditional and modern is one of the reasons why Mexico is so beautiful, whatever your passion may be – exploring wildlife, browsing the Mexican coastline, experiencing the Mayan sites or simply enjoying margaritas at sunset.

Unique Mexican expériences
You can visit a 1300-year-old Maya palace in the midst of monkeys and other wildlife in the jungles; roll into the warm turquoise waves of the Pacific Ocean on the edge of palm-fringed beaches; dance the night away at modern nightclubs; or dine on world-class traditional Mexican fare - all these are unique Mexican experiences.
Mexico is such a large country set between the temperate and tropical zones; it soars five kilometres into the sky and has 10,000kms of coastline; it is dotted with tiny villages and purblos that lead to a sprawling bustling city of 19 million people – it is so diverse that every visitor goes home with their own unforgettable images.
Mexico is a year-round destination, with October to the month of May as this is the most perfect time of year. May to September remains humid and hot, mainly in the south and the temperatures in the inland areas can reach freezing point between December and February.

Cruise to Mexico from LA
Try a 4 Day Mexico Cruise!
I went on the Carnival Pride cruise ship with my mum in Feb 2008, which started in LA and went down to Mexico and back over 7 days. We only had 3 stops the first being Puerto Vallarta! We only had 3/4 of a day there but it was the highlight of my trip!
We started the morning with one of the activities called "extreme canopy" - run by Vallarta Adventures.
We had a quick 20min boat ride from the port (and when I say boat, more of a dingy!) through to the hidden away spot. Along the way we had dolphins swimming right next to us - close enough to touch!! Truly amazing! We also past the amazing Le Kliff restaurant which over hangs the ocean - a place I want to go to next time I am there.
Once arriving at our location we got into our safety gear and a quick training session and loaded into the truck. On the way up we past schools, tequila farms and housing and I realised how blessed we are in the conditions we live in! The road itself was not very wide and very windy - and bumpy! It got a little scary at times when we had to reverse to let another car/truck pass by as we thought we were going to fall off the side of the cliff!! When the truck stopped we thought we were at the top... only to find out we had to ride a mule the last few km as the trucks couldn't fit!
Accompanied by the leader singing "Hakuna Matata" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" from the Lion King, we finally made it to the top... and what a site!!!!! 7 Zip lines from mountain to mountain that we could see... and about 5 we couldn't because we were so high up! Before we knew it, our first guide had hooked on, and jumped off the cliff, down the Zip line - doing back flips!!!! It was crazy!! One at a time we clipped on and jumped off - the most exhilarating thing I have ever done!
After the first one you just want to run to the next. The whole adventure had 10 Zip lines, 2 ab-sailes and a rickety bridge! All set to challenge you, and make you feel like you have accomplished something at the end! The crew that took us up were extremely funny and even if you were scared at any point, you were to busy laughing or smiling to notice! The views along the way are amazing and what is best of all... a photographer goes along with you so you don't miss out on any of the action, as your can't take any belongings with you.
