Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast

It's not quite in the same league as the four main theme parks but Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is great for families and smaller children who will love the interaction with and ability to feed the animals and birds.
There are regular shows throughout the day and, at a particular time they have the bird feedings when hundreds of brightly coloured lorikeets come in to the park to feed.
Of particular interest to overseas visitors, there are plenty of opportunities to get up close to koalas, kangaroos and other native Australian wildlife.
