If Skiing is for you - here are some great suggestions

Snow Shoeing in Quebec
Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada is less than a couple of hours drive from the city of Montreal.
However, when you arrive the hustle and bustle of the metropolis seems a world away.
The skiing here is impressive, but there is no need to fear if you fancy a day away from the slopes.
The area is blessed with wonderful backwoods paths which can lead to fabulous off piste adventures. This makes it ideal for snoe-shoeing, a sport that is rapidly gaining in popularity among Canada's baby boomer population. As they say in Quebec (in French!) - "if you can walk, you can snow shoe"

Ski with an Olympian at Whistler Blackcomb
In 2010, Vancouver in British Columbia hosted the Winter Olympic Games.
The major skiing action actually took place a couple of hours up the road in the resort of Whistler Blackcomb, so named because of it's two impressive peaks, the terrain and all round facilities provided Olympians with an unforgettable experience.
Nowadays, ordinary mortal skiers and snowboarders can also take on the challenge of the Whistler Blackcomb slopes, yet a few of those Olympic athletes are still in the area and willing to share their expertise, as this video shows.

Skiing in Jasper National Park, Alberta
Alberta is blessed when it comes to ski resorts.
The trio of Mt Norquay, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village make up the 'Ski Big 3' where one ski pass gets you access to three completely different experiences.
They are all based in and around the town of Banff, and if you take a take trip along the famous route from here, via the Icefields Parkway you will come to Jasper National Park and Marmot Basin Ski Resort.
It's only 20 minutes from the town of Jasper and has 3,000 vertical feet of superb skiing and snowboarding - but it is the Canadian Rocky Mountain scenery that will leave you breathless.
